Today’s Joy Kitchen is all about this delicious, spicy, fragrant apple cider made from regular apple juice!

This recipe was adapted from a recipe off of the Faithfully Gluten Free website! (You can view the original recipe here:


8 cups of apple juice

16 whole cloves

16 whole allspice berries

2 tbsps cinnamon sugar

1 tsp orange extract 


  1. Combine apple juice, cloves, and berries in a small pot. Bring to medium high heat until simmering.
  2. Reduce to medium heat and add cinnamon sugar and orange extract. Stir until dissolved.
  3. Continue to simmer for about 30 mins. For stronger cider, simmer longer. 
  4. It’s ready to serve!
